Any affordable jewellery or anything other than solid gold requires some extra love and care.

Your gold-plated jewellery pieces might experience discolouring over time due to external factors like moisture / humidity, your natural skin PH levels and chemicals.

For this reason, it is highly recommended that you pay special attention to the care of your gold-plated jewellery so they last as long as possible. If you take care of things, they last. Treat it with love!

Here’s how you can ensure your Bling Thing pieces last longer:

• Apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing your jewellery
• Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising and before bed.
• We recommend keeping your jewellery  as dry as possible as this will help prolong the longevity of your pieces, and retain their color and shine.
• Certain sanitizers may contain chemicals which could tarnish the piece so be mindful of that too.

How to clean and store your Bling Thing jewellery:

• Just like you, your jewellery needs a break every now and then! Wipe down your
  jewellery with a soft, lint free cloth (not tissues!) before storing to remove dust/skin oils.
• Our Bling Thing pouches are super cute and reusable for many purposes! If you choose to use them to store your jewellery, please make sure that you first keep in a zip lock and then tighten the pouch as well to make it airtight.
• Jewellery should be stored away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity. 
• It’s best to store your each piece in a separate zip lock pouch as this stops them from scratching each other and avoids annoying tangles!
• Necklaces that are linked/layered are best stored hanging from a hook to keep from tangling.
